A full Day
The day was Cold and blustery. The wind was howling around the corner of the house and throwing branches on the roof top, which Ruby Sue thought was a invader. This caused her to errupt into a fit of barking and jumping between the windows, viciously looking for the Scoundrel!
The day was full.
Full of activity and gratitude.
Someone asked me today to take on a new project. A cause, some might call it. But I have no interest.
My life is here immersed in the deep, dark woods; The precious animals; The Fragrant earth; And the Holy Spirit that is in the very air, I breathe.
I have no interest in doing anything else.
The goats were fed Their grain And warm water carried in buckets from the barn to their house. The icy ones taken away to thaw. They are comfy in their Mohair fleeces but do enjoy warm water on cold days. I love to watch as they sip the water through their closed lips and gently close their eyes, as if it is the best thing they have ever tasted. They live in the moment.
The Java chickens were fed leftovers from the house and kitchen scraps, and then warm water carried in buckets to their house. This is a daily routine as the ice forms in the night and The over ground waterlines freeze. It is a task, but it does build the biceps!
Then the dreaded task of sitting at the computer – it is one of my very least favorite things to do! Two hours later, The Etsy accountit Finished – or the best I can do for now.
A walk with Ruby Sue deep in the woods for 30 minutes around the pasture to discover, once again (This is getting to be ridiculous) The electric wire around the top of the fence yhat keeps the coyote out of the pasture, was broken in four places… By DEER!
Repairs tromping up and down the hill with wire Carters, wire and fence insulators, once again was finished long after dark.
It was lovely to see the ridge appearing as the sun struck the highest part first. I always wanted to own a mountain, and this has appeared just in the last ten years… Or perhaps it was there all along and I never saw it because I was not here to see it.

The day not yet finished, A bit of supper cooked – To enjoy by the fire, Reading, which is a nightly routine, and knitting, which soothes my soul.
I'm told there's a lot of chaos in the world. I read it from time to time and pray for those who make the decisions. But choose to filter a lot of it out.
For now, this day is perfect. My family is happy and healthy (is there anything else more important?), there's enough firewood; And a warm house to nuture sseet dreams.
